Who We Are

A Home of Hope and Healing

Our History

Nestled on a large, scenic property along the Savannah River—near the site of America’s first orphanage—Treutlen House carries forward a proud legacy of care and community. Our roots stretch back to the early 1700s. Today, our property is both a safe haven and a learning environment where boys ages 12–21 can heal, grow, and thrive while surrounded by nature, animals, and a sense of belonging.

How We’re Different

Treutlen House is intentionally small—serving only 8–10 boys at a time—so we can focus on each child as an individual. Our family-style setting emphasizes permanence, stability, and meaningful connections. From home-cooked meals to responsibilities that teach independence, our environment mirrors a family home rather than an institution.

Impact Statements

At Treutlen House, every boy finds more than shelter—he discovers stability, guidance, and the chance to build a brighter future.
